test questions for the Secret Life of Plants programs
The four video tapes in this series will be particularly useful to prepare students for the Year 12 Biology curriculum, particularly the substantial topic of 'Reproduction in Plants'. There are three versions of each video tape: the Secret Life of increasing complexity on this VHS video covering the reproductive lifecycle of a typical fern:
However they have wide application for other courses also - from primary schools to tertiary institutions - as the topic on each is treated at three levels of sophistication: Simple, Intermediate and Advanced. The one video tape therefore has a multiplicity of uses within any institution. The Simple version at the beginning of each video may be used as an introduction to familiarize all levels of students with the topic. The choice of the Intermediate or Advanced versions then depends on student ability and need.
The videos contain sophisticated animations professionally produced to an extremely high standard using computer graphics on topics which are notoriously difficult to teach. They are as good as any natural history video produced overseas and are set in a New Zealand context. The structures and processes involved in plant reproduction are stunningly illustrated and will hold students' attention. They are brilliant! These are action packed videos!
