January 5, 2004 -- With apologies to T. S. Eliot, Environmental Media is ringing in the new year with a bang (not a whimper). The company has added two new staff members and expanded its design and production capacity to support science, conservation, and education organizations.
“Environmental Media is a full-service multimedia company with a unique focus on environmental and education productions,” says Bill Pendergraft, president of Environmental Media. “Tapping into the latest technologies, we now offer interactive DVD and print capabilities in addition to our wealth of video productions. By bringing in staff with expertise in the environmental field, we offer our education and conservation clients a wider array of services and programs. Since 1989 Environmental Media has produced more than 400 programs and has won 25 international awards for quality of production. This expansion is a natural outgrowth of our commitment to
high-quality environmental productions.”
Niche, Environmental Media’s full-service publishing division, is now offering expanded services. Niche oversees all aspects of creating print and online media, including concept development; research, writing, and editing; and production management. Niche publishes its own titles and works with partners to publish titles-on-request. See www.nichepress.com.
Ida Phillips Lynch has joined Environmental Media as lead writer and editor. Ida has served as principal researcher/writer on many Environmental Media projects, including Rain Forest Trek, Roanoke River Journey, and many of the programs in the Biomes series. Ida was formerly director of communications for The Nature Conservancy, NC Chapter and is the author of North Carolina Afield.
Katy Garland now directs science education for Environmental Media. She will provide training to support the use of Environmental Media’s core content and provide support for design and production. Katy has a degree in Biology from Marquette University, and has worked in Central and South America with a focus on marine turtle conservation.
