Who we are
Niche is an imprint of Environmental Media Corporation, a 15-year-old mission-driven company that designs, produces and distributes media for classrooms and communities. Niche complements the work of Environmental Media by providing print companions to their award-winning video productions and exploring many of the regions and topics the company has documented in numerous video projects.
Bill Pendergraft and Ida Phillips Lynch developed Niche when they realized that there may be other people out there who find the journey as interesting as the destination.
Just the facts
Bill Pendergraft is the founder and President of Environmental Media. He holds degrees in design and education, and has managed the design, production and distribution of media projects for thirty years. Prior to forming Environmental Media, he was the Director of US Operations for TVOntario in Toronto. Visit Environmental Media’s production page for a description of current projects.
Ida Phillips Lynch is Environmental Media’s lead writer and has served as principal researcher/writer on many Environmental Media video and print productions, including Rain Forest Trek, Roanoke River Journey, North American Biomes, American Grasslands, American Deserts, and Jocassee Gorges. She is the author of North Carolina Afield, a guide to Nature Conservancy projects in North Carolina, and her writing has appeared in Wildlife in North Carolina, New Age, and Nature Conservancy. Ida was formerly the director of communications for The Nature Conservancy, NC Chapter.
