Environmental Media Corporation is a mission-driven company that specializes in the design and production of media to support environmental education for children and adults.

Since forming our company in 1989, we have produced more than 450 video and interactive programs, primarily in collaboration with public and private organizations that focus on environmental education and conservation. We have created a variety of interactives and auditorium presentations for museums and institutional use and numerous programs for broadcast and use on videocassette. Our series are viewed by millions of students on public television stations worldwide and are acquired for use in schools, libraries, nature centers, museums, homes and other environmental educational outlets.

Our projects have included:

Journey of the Loggerhead: An interactive DVD project that introduces students and adults to marine turtles. The DVD features a 26-minute video, archival interviews and footage, still photographs, curriculum guide, hyperlinks to a wealth of related organizations, and more.

The Sound of Wings: Produced for the ACE Basin National Wildlife Refuge, the program will be used at the historic Grove Plantation as part of a program to interpret the Refuge’s resident and migratory bird populations, as well as cultural history.

Rain Forest Trek: Working with the Worldwide Office of The Nature Conservancy, we developed a 30-minute video program introducing students to the world’s rain forests.

Hiking Grand Canyon: A program designed to educate backcountry and day hikers about hiking safety and how to protect the Grand Canyon ’s natural and cultural resources - produced in collaboration with the Grand Canyon Association and Grand Canyon National Park .

Voices of Palau : Conservation in the Republic of Palau: A documentary on conservation efforts in Palau with Noah Idechong. Former Director of the Palau Conservation Society, Idechong was named a “Hero for the Planet” by Time magazine.

Journey through the Peninsula: Voices and Viewpoints: Produced for the first 16’ x 9’ digital video theater in North Carolina, this program is an aesthetic journey through the Pamlico Sound.

Jocassee Gorges: Informational program on the conservation of the Jocassee Gorges in North and South Carolina produced for The Nature Conservancy, N.C. Chapter, and the Chattooga River Watershed Coalition.

Interactives: Video media interactives and auditorium presentations for the N.C. State Museum of Natural Sciences, the Cashie/Roanoke River Visitor Center, Goose Creek State Park Visitor Center, Lake Waccamaw Visitor Center, Lumber River State Park Visitor Center and others.
